Boon Rawd Brewery Company Limited have signed a deal with Kent-based Shepherd Neame brewery to brew their premium Thai lager Singha for the UK market.
The family owned brewer and pub company has been the sole distributor of Singha (5% ABV) in the UK since 2019.
This evolution of the partnership will see the brand brewed and packed in 330ml and 630ml single bottles and 30l and 50l kegs at its Faversham brewery, with production already underway. Singha 330ml cans will continue to be imported.
Shepherd Neame will distribute UK-brewed Singha in keg and bottle to selected pubs in its 310-strong estate across London and the South East, and to on and off-trade customers nationwide. It will continue to manage Singha’s UK marketing strategy, sales, distribution and promotion.
The UK brewery has a yearly production of about 284,000 hl and is best known for classic British ales such as Spitfire and Bishop’s Finger. They also brew other award-winning lagers including Hürlimann and Samuel Adams under license and are the sole UK distributor for Truly Hard Seltzer.
Shepherd Neame Chief Executive Jonathan Neame said: “We’re delighted to build on our successful partnership with Boon Rawd Brewery, drawing upon our well-established brewing credentials to produce Singha and continue working to raise its profile as an exceptional world lager throughout the UK.”
Boon Rawd Chief Executive Officer Khun Bhurit Birombakdi said: “We are extremely happy to further strengthen our successful relationship with Shepherd Neame with this local brewing agreement. We both share the same family values and commitment to quality, and look forward to working together to continue serving our British consumers.”
In line with it’s tagline “Born in Bangkok. Brewed for the World” Singha has been extending it’s global reach for several years now. In 2010 Singha became the official beer partner of Chelsea Football Club and in 2021 they opened their first overseas Thai concept brewpub in Miami, USA, under their Est. 33 brand.
