Singapore’s pioneering brewery, Brewerkz, recently opened its newest restaurant at No. 9 The Oval earlier in October, expanding their presence to the tranquil oasis of Seletar Aerospace Park.
The 150-seater restaurant is situated within The Oval’s serene heritage bungalow, a peaceful retreat from the urban hustle. The surrounding nature provides a rustic countryside ambiance, enhancing the overall dining experience.
The restaurant employs an aviation-inspired aesthetic, drawing on The Oval’s connection to Seletar Airport. The flight board-themed beer board, yellow taxiway floors, warm lighting, and rivets that mimic an aircraft’s body all recreate the essence of aviation sophistication. Natural light streaming in through the heritage bungalow’s windows infuses the space with warmth and charm, seamlessly blending natural beauty with aviation-themed allure.
The sixth Singapore outlet from the two time Champion Mid-Size Brewery of Asia (they also operate 2 in Indonesia) features 15 styles of house-brewed craft beers and visitors can indulge in the “Aviator’s Beer Flight”, a sample-sized selection, to try them out. Looking for something new? This outlet will be the only one showcasing their exclusive craft beer “No. 9 Fresh Hop Session IPA”, a brew boasting a distinctive blend of fresh hops, promising a vibrant hop character designed specially for the new restaurant.
According to Brewerkz ‘s Owner and CEO Tan Wee Han, “Stepping into our restaurant feels like embarking on a journey through an airport, from the taxiway to an airport lounge,” drawing a parallel between the restaurant’s aesthetic and flying.
The menu has been curated to pair with the craft beers on tap. Prepared by Executive Chef Seow Tzi Qin of THE FOOD Group, the menu features new and exclusive dishes from modern European, classic American, and Asian culinary traditions. Among the highlights are their Salt Pepper Baby Squid, the Buttermilk Chicken and Pancakes, and the Smoky Beer Chilli Bowl, featuring NEWGrain+ tortilla chips made from beer spent grains, exemplifying Brewerkz’s commitment to sustainability.
The unveiling of the new restaurant follows the opening of their Woodleigh Mall outlet earlier this year.
Brewerkz is running a promotion to celebrate their grand opening, until January 31, 2024. Called the ‘Brewerkz Passport’ program, the promotion offers patrons “a flavour-filled adventure with the Brewerkz Passport”, with exciting prizes to be redeemed.
