Singapore’s oldest craft brewery, Brewerkz, have collaborated with leisure destination Sentosa Island to launch Islander Brew, the country’s first leisure destination-inspired beers.

Four flavours have been released in the groundbreaking series, each featuring a unique taste inspired by edible plants found on the island – cacao, lime, jasmine and nutmeg.

The beers have been named after prominent island landmarks: Siloso Beach, Tanjong Rimau, Fort Siloso, and Bukit Manis. The landmarks were chosen to represent leisure offerings that embody one of the four themes under Sentosa’s new ‘Make Time for a Holiday’ campaign – Island Life, Heritage Discovery, Wellness Escape, and Nature Adventure.

The collaboration brews are available in 4 distinct styles; wheat, kolsch, gose and Porter

Siloso Beach, a refreshing gose brewed with sea salt and kaffir lime represents a beach renowned for being the hippest beach on Sentosa, with its golden sands and trendy bars and restaurants.

Tanjong Rimau, a classic wheat beer with hints of nutmeg and coriander and a citrusy yuzu aroma, is considered one of Singapore’s best-kept secrets, a coastal headland rich in marine life.

Fort Siloso is Singapore’s last remaining preserved coastal fort and as a homage to the heritage of the British era is represented with an English-styled Porter, velvety in texture with a rich chocolatey flavour and hints of coffee and vanilla.

The fourth beer, Bukit Manis, is a crisp and sparkling Jasmine Kolsch, ideal for the home of some of Sentosa’s wellness spas and lush nature

Brewerkz and the Sentosa Development Corp. (SDC) also wanted to ensure the brews were Singapore’s first carbon neutral beers. This effort is part of SDC’s broader decarbonisation roadmap for Sentosa, and Brewerkz’s aspirations to create increasingly sustainable products in its business activities.

Tan Wee Han, Owner and CEO of Brewerkz commented “This is our first destination-inspired beer collection, and marks our biggest and most comprehensive collaboration ever. We are proud to partner Sentosa, and grateful for the opportunity to showcase our capabilities as a local home-grown brand for Singapore’s iconic leisure destination.”

The collaboration brews have been canned for distribution across Sentosa Island and from 1st December have been rolled out at the island’s food and beverage outlets participating in Sentosa’s “Make Time For A Holiday”. Cans are also available at selected supermarkets across Singapore.

It is hoped the Islander Brew will be available across Singapore throughout 2021.
