The Indian craft brewer has raised the curtain on its ambitious new collaboration with all-female biker collective She for Society to launch Project Valkyrie a limited-edition craft beer
Ironhill India, one of India’s largest craft brewers based in Bengaluru, has launched its latest creation, Project Valkyrie, a limited-edition craft beer. The new brew has been produced in partnership with She for Society, an all-female biker collective known for combining their love of motorcycling with community initiatives such as fundraising for rural education.
The choice of name draws on the Valkyries of Norse mythology who were warrior women entrusted with leading the brave into battle and are a symbol of strength and camaraderie. Ironhill has used that mythology to position the new beer as a reflection of resilience, autonomy and shared purpose, qualities that resonate strongly with its partner collective.
The launch in Bengaluru earlier in September was designed as a spectacle as much as a tasting of the new brew, with 35 motorbike riders from She for Society completing a two-kilometre circuit through the city before arriving at Ironhill’s flagship outlet in Marathahalli.
Their arrival set the stage for a full brewhouse tour, with fermenters, copper kettles and mash tuns on display. The highlight was a hands-on “grain-to-glass” session, where the riders joined Ironhill’s brewers in shaping the earliest notes of the Valkyrie brew.
This collaborative spirit extended to the food, with a specially curated lunch that paired Valkyrie and Ironhill’s wider range of ales with dishes designed to showcase the flavour potential of craft beer. By weaving gastronomy into the event, the company reinforced its broader brand identity, one that leans on immersive experiences and food pairing rather than simply pouring pints.
For Ironhill, the partnership represents more than just a product launch. It underscores how India’s craft brewers are increasingly moving to cultivate lifestyle-driven brands that speak to diverse audiences. Craft beer consumption may still be largely concentrated in urban centres, but initiatives such as Project Valkyrie demonstrate how breweries are experimenting with narratives that combine inclusivity, creativity and social advocacy.
The Valkyrie brew will officially be released later this month. For now, it is pouring exclusively at the brewer’s Bengaluru flagship outlet.
