Scottish based brewer, Brewdog, have announced the launch of their ‘final’ Equity for Punks crowdfunding campaign dubbed “Equity for Punks Tomorrow”.
They are aiming to raise £7.5 million pounds (USD 9.7 million) towards their sustainable future programme, with a potential of up to £50 million.
The programme, launched on the 10th September, aims to further increase the ‘carbon negativity’ of their complete brewing and delivery logistics programme and includes a brand new forest in the Scottish highlands. According to a post to their Facebook page by 14th September they had already raised £1 million (USD 1.3 million) towards their goal.
Brewdog co-owners James Watt and Martin Dickie have pledged that every single penny invested in this funding round will go directly to high impact sustainability projects.
In a statement on the crowdfunding campaign James Watt notes that Equity for Punks has already broken all types of crowdfunding records all over the world and they are now back with a completely new type of share offering “Equity for Punks Tomorrow is a radically
different type of share offering; a share offering where every single penny you invest goes towards building a more sustainable future for all of us.”
This will be the final round of Brewdog’s record breaking Equity for Punks crowdfunding. So far they have raised over £70 million (USD 95 million) through five previous Equity for Punks campaigns. The Scottish brewer is currently valued at over £1.5 billion (USD 2 billion).
