The popular Indian craft beer brand has resumed full-scale operations in Bengaluru following the restart of its upgraded Mysuru brewery. The move should help boost local supply, improve product freshness, and strengthen its presence across the city.

Indian craft beer brand Bira 91, owned by B9 Beverages Pvt. Ltd, has resumed full-scale operations in Bengaluru, Karnataka, following significant upgrades to its supply chain and the recommencement of brewing at its Mysuru facility, situated approximately 240 kilometres southwest of the city.

The move marks a key milestone in Bira 91’s growth strategy for Karnataka, which the company identifies as one of its fastest-growing markets. The relaunch is aimed at improving product freshness and reducing lead times through local production, a critical advantage in India’s dynamic beer market.

The Mysuru brewery, which had previously been offline for upgrades, now forms an integral part of the company’s hybrid brewing model, blending in-house facilities with contract brewing to respond swiftly to regional demand.

To support its renewed push into the Bengaluru market, Bira 91 has appointed a new sales and distribution partner to boost presence across the city’s bars, pubs, restaurants, and off-trade retail outlets. The brand’s flagship offerings available in Bengaluru include the Bira 91 White (a Belgian-style wheat beer), Blonde Summer Lager, and the more contemporary Bira 91 Boom range.

Bira 91’s presence in the city extends beyond retail, with two operational taprooms—one located in the vibrant Koramangala district and another at Kempegowda International Airport. These outlets feature small-batch experimental brews, seasonal releases, and a curated menu that reflects the brand’s premium positioning in the craft beer segment.

This latest development reflects Bira 91’s broader ambition to scale efficiently across India by optimising regional production hubs while maintaining brand consistency and freshness. The relaunch in Bengaluru positions the company well to capitalise on renewed consumer demand during the upcoming festive season and further solidify its status as one of India’s most prominent homegrown beer brands.
