7 Bridges Brewing Company have released the world’s first NFT craft beer with a physical incarnation.

Partnering with Trace Network Labs, an organization providing lifestyle protocols for the metaverse, Danang’s 7 Bridges have released a craft beer series called \iNFTy, a Grand Cru Ale that brings craft beer into the digital world.

What is an NFT?

An NFT, otherwise known as a non-fungible token, is a one-of-a-kind digital asset that, unlike a bitcoin for example, cannot be replaced like-for-like. A little confused? Check out the Forbes description of NFT’s HERE

But these beers are a little different – they have a physical counterpart in the real world, a reverse avatar, if you like.

Only 99 bottles of this brew will be released in a sequential countdown on Trace’s Bling NFT marketplace. Each \iNFTy stands as a unique NFT artwork with its counterpart physical bottle cellared in the real world until Leap Year Day, 2024.

Each \iNFTy bottle is a unique beautiful NFT artwork reflected by its cellared physical incarnation, and vice versa, in parallel worlds, or…infinite universes. Once purchased the owners virtual avatars will be able to show off their beer in any universe they chose to travel through.

7 Bridges will release 99 bottles of their \iNFTy beer

Brewed specifically to mature with time, the brewery have cellared 110 bottles of this Grand Cru style ale (99 for release and 11 brewer’s reserve) which are now just coming into readiness and will cellar nicely, just like a fine wine.

Why \iNFTty? Why numbers?

7 Bridges founder Stanley Boots explains “Our digital world reduces reality to numbers. Physics merges with the mystic. Infinite possibilities. Each NFT embeds the arcane mysteries of its number. Hence, 99 bottles of \iNFTy on the wall.”

“Each \iNFTy has a story to tell. For example, \iNFTy 99 represents wisdom and intelligence, the age of Abraham when he met his Deity, and the atomic number of the rare element einsteinium. And \iNFTy 26 represents our alphabet through the code-breaking Enigma machine” he elaborates.

Once a bottle is sold it will be carefully cellared (on a wall of course) and may be claimed by the buyer at any time from purchase until 29 February 2024. The physical incarnation is a deeply complex, bottle conditioned Grand Cru artisanal ale that masterfully melds 7 Bridges’ gold medal winning Imperial Stout with their Belgian Quad and bourbon infused Scottish Ale.

This particular recipe, Boots assures any potential buyer, will never be brewed again – they literally burned the recipe!

Tasting Notes: \iNFTy thrills the mouth and nose with deep and complex cacao, toffee raisin and candied plum notes, finishing off with just a hint of bourbon and caramelized sugar. It’s so rich and smooth without harsh alcohol notes, despite its robust 12% ABV and 35 IBU. Savor \iNFTy with a friend, like a fine wine. Pairs well with grilled lamb, roasted fennel, chocolate and a billionaire’s trip to space.

Claiming your physical beer

The \iNFTy owner can hold, resell or otherwise use the NFT as desired. 7 Bridges would love to see \iNFTy travel the universe in unique derivative works, games or NFT markets.

If they wish, each NFT owner may claim the single physical incarnation of their NFT any time up to 29 February 2024, the next Leap Year Day, when the beer is expected to reach its peak of perfection.

Once claimed, the physical bottle will be taken from the cellar wall and presented to its owner. Claiming can be done in person, making a great excuse to visit 7 Bridges Brewing Company in Vietnam when borders reopen, or by shipping which can be arranged through the brewery (at the owners cost).
