MixTape Drinks, a beverage and lifestyle brand based out of Ho Chi Minh City, has reached out to new investors to help fund their local and regional expansion.

Mixtape Collective International, the group’s Singaporean parent company, is conducting the limited offering of preferred shares to fund it’s initial stages of their Vietnam bricks and mortar expansion.

The company launched in 2020 with a focus on creating high quality craft beverages.

They launched their first craft beer “Peaches & Cream IPA” which within a few months of its launch became one of the most popular IPAs in taprooms around Vietnam.

The follow up beers California Sun and Molly (a juicy US style Pale Ale and Milk Stout) are recent additions and quickly acquiring a greater segment of the market share.

Founded by US expat and long time stalwart of the Southeast Asian craft beer scene Chad Mitchell, the ethos behind Mixtape Drinks is bringing together as a team what he sees as the core elements of life; music & craft.

Helping him in this endeavour are two other well know faces on Asia’s craft beer landscape, Shawn Kidd & James Waters. Shawn brings his experience in brand and event management as well as taproom operations and James brings the technical knowhow in brewing, distilling and all things fermentation.

The founders of MixTape Beverage Co. hope to grow a regional lifestyle brand as Southeast Asia recovers from its pandemic slump

Between them the team have over 25 years experience in craft beer in Asia. Together as a team they aim to share their passion for music and craft, building community collaborations through craft beverages, music, art by working with local artists, musicians and foodies.

Packaging an extensive range of products, from craft beer to sodas, spirits to seltzers, including fermented foods, showcasing these through their taproom design, events and art installations throughout Vietnam and the rest of Asia.

According to their Share Offering Pitch Deck the team intend to expand “intentionally and with purpose” in 3 phases with growth fuelled by demand:

Phase 1:
– Continued expansion of MixTape Drinks locally through contract brewed products
– Further develop already established off-trade, on-trade and their own e-commerce distribution channels
– Build a flagship MixTape Drinks Brewhouse/Taproom in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam
– Launch the MixTape Social channels and blockchain/NFT program.
– Brand development through extensive involvement in local music, street art, food & beverage pop ups and festivals

Phase 2:
– Expansion of the MixTape drinks branded taprooms
– Establish a channel for off-premise consumption through B-Side (bottle shops)
– White Label beverages for B2B partners
– Limited distribution beyond Vietnam

Phase 3:
– Establishment of the MixTape Beverage Base Camp, a full size production brewery, distillery, art, music, event space, and house of fermentation
– Introducing a branded line of canned beverages, coffee, foods, and more
– Overseas expansion into growing markets through local production partners

Pre-pandemic Vietnam was one of Southeast Asia’s fastest growing craft beer markets. Despite a rocky 2021 the industry is expecting to bounce back strongly in 2022 and MixTape are banking on riding this trend to grow sales and develop new distribution channels.

To help them achieve this, and with an eye on overseas expansion, MixTape have teamed up with regional craft beer distributors Beervana.

In their initial share offering the company is looking to raise enough funds to complete Phase 1 of their Vietnam expansion.
