With events in Hanoi, Da Nang, and Ho Chi Minh City, this year’s festival coincides with the 30th anniversary of the German Business Association (GBA) in Vietnam, and the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
Vietnam will again host this autumn what organisers claim is Southeast Asia’s largest German beer festival, with events scheduled in Hanoi, Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City.
The GBA-Erdinger Oktoberfest 2025 will begin at the JW Marriott Hotel in Hanoi from 25 to 27 September, followed by a one-night celebration at the Furama Resort in Da Nang on 3 October, and conclude at Hotel Nikko Saigon in Ho Chi Minh City from 9 to 11 October.
Since the event’s introduction to Vietnam in 1992, Oktoberfest has become an annual fixture combining German food, drink and entertainment. The 2024 edition drew more than 10,500 visitors who consumed over 20,000 litres of imported German beer, according to organisers. Attendance in 2025 is expected to exceed those figures
.
Festival programmes in each city will include German beer brewed in accordance with traditional Bavarian methods, along with German cuisine and non-alcoholic options. Musical entertainment will be provided by the O’zapft Band from Germany and Austria, supplemented by folk dances, traditional games and prize draws.
The events are jointly organised by the GBA and the German Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Vietnam, under the patronage of the German Embassy in Hanoi and the Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City. Beyond cultural exchange, the festival is also intended to provide networking opportunities for businesses.
