Vietnam’s craft breweries have taken part in a festival raising funds to support Ukraine’s Red Cross.

#Together4Peace was held at Saigon Outcast in Ho Chi Minh City’s District 2, a popular location for beer festivals prior to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Besides live music, breakdancing and a variety of other activities, local breweries including Rooster Beers, Heart of Darkness and Winking Seal took part.

John Pemberton, CEO of Heart of Darkness, shared his rationale with Asia Brewers Network for supporting the event.

“Heart of Darkness as a brand stands for respecting others and not judging based on race, gender or ethnicity. We have close friends and old colleagues from the Ukraine. We have seen the pain in their eyes during previous incursions and imagined that times 40 million,” said Mr Pemberton.

“We had to do something no matter how small to show our support for the Ukrainian community. We stand on the side of peace and humanity.”
