Following hot on the heels of a number of new taproom openings in Ho Chi Minh City, Belgo Belgian Craft Beer Brewery have recently opened their 4th outlet.
The new venue is situated in a charming, colonial-style building on Thon That Thiep Street, one of the oldest in streets in the southern Vietnamese city, and opened officially on the 19th May.
When renovations for the new outlet began the Belgo team decided they wanted to respect the building’s past. This entailed preserving as many authentic elements of the building as possible, from the arched ceilings and old bricks to original antique woodwork.
After months of careful preparation, Belgo’s newest pub was finally opened to the public, welcoming local and international lovers of their Belgian brews. To celebrate the opening, Belgo has prepared a limited release sharing bottle of their finest Belgo Royale Tripel, described as a “majestic and divine beer”. 200 bottles have been produced, each with their own unique number, which will be offered to the first guests who visit the new location.
As with the group’s other three pubs, Belgo Thon That Thiep offers Belgo’s range of beers, a selection of authentic Belgian and international dishes and a fun and friendly environment just as one would expect to find in Belgium. A stand-alone brewery runs to supply the group’s outlets.
Belgo was founded in 2016 by Belgian Gauthier Lagasse and partners and it prides itself as the first and only Belgian Craft Beer Brewery in Vietnam. They now operate four locations in Ho Chi Minh City and their beers are distributed throughout Asia.
The brewery group made global news in December 2022 when they launched their unique ‘beer currency’ vending machine, which accepts mass market beer as a currency to buy Belgo’s range of beers.
