In a deal with 7000 Islands Drinks three new Engkanto brews will become available in Australia
Engkanto Brewery, one of the Philippines’ top craft brewers, has announced that it has signed a deal with 7000 Islands Drinks to extend the import, distribution and sale of its beers into Australia, including those made with ube and carabao mangoes.
Among the new beer variants to become available in Australia is the brewer’s rich and creamy ‘Paint Me Purple Ube Lager’ made using Ube, a popular Philippines’ purple yam; ‘Mango Nation’, a hazy IPA with highlights of carabao mangoes sourced from different fruit-growing regions in the country such as the island of Guimaras; and ‘High Hive’ Honey Ale, which uses raw honey sourced from apiaries in Baguio City.
Ian Paradies, the founder of the Engkanto Brewery, which was launched in 2017, says new products are also on the way. “Team Engkanto boldly presents a unique beer experience for beer drinkers, here in the Philippines, Australia, and around the world, with flavours from homegrown ingredients such as honey, mango, and ube. We are excited to tell you that we are working on more native ingredients.”
Siegfrid Bacani, of 7000 Islands, the official Australian distribution partner says: “We’re totally wrapped, to be expanding these ridiculously tasty craft beers from the 7,000 islands of the Philippines. And craft beer aficionados agree, with an esteemed panel of 75 judges declaring three of Engkanto’s craft beers winners at the Australian International Beer Awards Gala Dinner that was held on 16th May 2024.”
