Happy Lunar New Year to all Asia Brewers Network readers!

We have collected a regional roundup of seasonal beers launched in honour of the festive season. From beautiful packaging designs to seasonal fruit flavours, you can explore what region’s brewers have brought to the festive table.

Furbrew (Vietnam)

Furbrew in Hanoi, Vietnam has launched Tết 2023, following their annual trend of launching a seasonal beer with beautifully designed packaging.

“Like last year, our co-founder Trung created the artwork for the label. Tết 2023 is our holiday greeting: a strong, red Belgian Tripel, as our wish to you for the best of luck and health in the coming year of the Golden Cat.”

Brewlander (Singapore)

Singaporean brewery Brewlander launched a special seasonal Ong Lai IPA: “Expect an aromatic and tropical IPA (6%) bursting with an abundance of pineapple notes, finishing with a gentle and clean bitterness alongside a silky mouthfeel… Yes, it comes with a complimentary pack of Brewlander red packet.”

Young Master (Hong Kong)

“Celebrating new beginnings to herald the year of the Rabbit, we are launching two classic brews – Yuen and Yeung. First of two is a text book mid-strength IPA with archetypal notes of pine, citrus peel and stone fruit with a satisfying bitter finish. Second in the series is a quintessential Stout with just the right balance between roast and chocolate, between viscosity and drinkability. You might think of these two mandarin ducks playing in water an unlikely pair, but we even like to brazenly blend them together and enjoy that taste of perfect harmony that’s as unexpected as it is sublime.”

Tiger Beer (Regional)

“Our Tiger Beer festive packaging this year receives a fresh new look with a splash of festive colours! Our aim to be free of plastic packaging by 2025 begins with our eco-friendly cardboard packaging, eliminating single-use plastics and reducing environmental impact this Chinese New Year!”

Carlsberg (Regional)

“Feifei Ruan’s illustration is described as a spring wonderland depicting eight magical rabbits transformed from the golden liquid of Carlsberg premium brew, reuniting in a beer forest. The piece is embellished with koi fish, signifying luck and good fortune, flying swallows that welcome spring and new beginnings, and dragonflies symbolising harmony, prosperity and good luck. Additionally, elements of gold coins and blooming peonies symbolise wealth, prosperity and new beginnings.”
