The collaborative Mexican-style ‘Los Pablos’ lager will initially be rolled out at outlets across Goa
Simba Beer, based in the Indian state of Chhattisgarh, has partnered with Mumbai-based Rollings Mills Brewery to develop and launch a limited-edition Mexican Lager called Los Pablos.
Los Pablos was selected as the winner of Simba’s Brew Off competition held in August last year, which evaluated entries on taste, aroma, appearance, and brewing excellence, according to the brewer. “The Simba Brew Off challenge has been nothing short of exhilarating,” Pratik Kansara, Founder & Brewer, Rolling Mills Brewery. “Right from the get-go, we were super enthusiastic about participating, as this seemed like a rare opportunity to showcase our beers on a much larger platform.”
The launch of Los Pablos also marked the debut of Simba Garage, a new platform created to promote collaborative brewing with microbreweries across India. Simba Garage is expected to serve as an ongoing platform for small-batch releases, spotlighting brewers from different regions. The Los Pablos brew, for example, will see a total of 1,500 cases released in Goa as part of the initial rollout.
Founded in 2016, Simba Beer is headquartered in Chhattisgarh and currently operates in 17 markets across India including Delhi, Maharashtra, Karnataka, and the entire Northeast. The company already exports its beers to New Zealand, Australia and Oman, and is targeting a 15–20% increase in sales this year, with a goal of reaching 4 million cases, up from 3 million in 2024.
Simba’s product lineup includes Witbier, a stout, and a strong beer. The company recently ventured into the spirits segment with the launch of ZigZag Vodka, currently available in Delhi, Goa, and Bangalore. Simba Beer and ZigZag Vodka are manufactured at the company’s own brewery and IMFL unit, respectively.
