A new tie-up with an Assam brewer will allow DeVANS to boost its production by one million cases a year
Indian alcoholic beverages firm DeVANS Modern Breweries has expanded its pan-India footprint by forming a strategic production partnership with a major brewery in Assam. The move aims to bolster the company’s production capacity to meet growing demand for its beers across the country, according to reports.
The new collaboration increases DeVAN’s production capacity to 190,600 kilolitres, allowing for the manufacture of an additional one million cases annually.
This expansion builds upon the success of previous tie-ups in Arunachal Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Jharkhand, and Uttar Pradesh.
Assam is a vibrant market, with significant growth potential for the brewing industry. The partnership enables DeVANS to serve the local market more efficiently as well as boost production for nationwide distribution.
Founded in 1961 by Dewan Gian Chand, DeVANS primarily manufactures malt spirits and beers. The company operates two breweries and two distilleries in parts of Jammu and Rajasthan, including facilities in Samba, Kotputli and Bohri.
Its beer brands include brews such as Godfather, Six Fields, and Kotsberg, and the company continues to innovate with new offerings tailored to the Indian palate. In 2023, DeVANS debuted in the premium lager segment with two beers: Six Fields Brute, with up to 8% alcohol by volume (ABV); and Six Fields Pilsner, with up to 5% ABV.
On its spirits side, the company is shortly to introduce new products, including a premium craft gin and additional expressions of its single malt GianChand whisky.
Currently operating in 18 states across India, primarily in the North and East, DeVANS also has a presence in Pondicherry in the South. The company exports its products to several international markets, including New Zealand, Australia, Japan, Singapore, the United Arab Emirates, Vietnam, and Hong Kong.
