Hong Kong’s Double Haven Brewery have completed the sale of their FoTan brewing facility to Owlsome Beverages Ltd, owners of fellow local brewery, Carbon Brews.
The two breweries, both in Fo Tan, had developed a strong relationship over the past 3 years. In an email informing the Asia Brewers Network of the sale Double Haven co-founder Leigh Powrie noted “Carbon’s employee-driven ethos, creative and exciting brews, and their amazing “sock-style” endeared us to their brand from day one”. She also noted that the two breweries had collaborated on projects and helped each other out with the sharing of raw materials over the past few years.
The brewery, which held it’s inaugural brew on Valentines Day 2018, is capable of producing 3.5 million pints (20,000 Hl) of beer a year and boasts state-of-the-art canning and bottling capabilities.
Over the coming months, Owlsome Beverages will be moving their full Carbon Brews production to the new facility with the 1,100Hl brewery providing a greater brewing capacity compared with their current 30Hl system.
Double Haven will continue to produce their beers at the brewery, as well as their popular Dragon Water spiked seltzers. They intend to re-focus their resourced on brand and market development activities.
