Vietnam’s Heart of Darkness Brewery has launched six collaboration beers with breweries and suppliers to celebrate women working in beer for International Women’s Day.

Teaming up with fellow Vietnamese craft brewers Pasteur Street Brewing Co., East West Brewing Co., Furbrew and Turtle Lake Brewing Co., as well as malt suppliers BoortMalt and brewing suppliers Hoàng Minh Group, the collaboration project seeks to highlight the innovation and hard work achieved by women working in craft beer in Vietnam and beyond.

Brewed and designed wholly by teams of women from each brewery, including Kim Thuy and An from the Heart of Darkness team, the lineup of collabs includes a Dragon Fruit Hazy with Dung from Furbrew, a Mulberry Kettle Sour with Lan Anh from Turtle Lake Brewing Co and a Sôcôla and Orange Spiced Stout with Hanh & Velvet from Hoàng Minh Group.

Each of the beers brewed is a small batch limited release, and will only be available for a limited time on draft only at Heart of Darkness Saigon Taproom from March 6 to 11.

With these releases, Heart of Darkness Brewery and its collaboration partners aim to draw attention to the hard work and creativity of the women working in the craft beer sector globally.

“Women make up a small but growing percentage of my peers within the beer industry, and with this series of collaborations we aim to highlight the hard work of those amazing women who work behind the scenes,” Heart of Darkness’ Head of Marketing Grace Whitby shared with Asia Brewers Network.

“It’s an incredible industry to join, and we hope by showcasing Vietnam’s amazing female brewers we hope to highlight to other women that working in craft beer is a viable and creative career choice.”

“It’s really inspiring to see women join in all levels of this industry which has historically been so dominated by men. A diverse workforce creates an environment with greater creativity and collaboration, and we hope to highlight this benefit through our series of exciting and flavourful beers.”
