The Philippine craft brewer opens its second taproom in Bonifacio Global City

Engkanto Brewery has expanded its craft beer outlets with the launch of Engkanto Taps BGC, a flagship taproom in Bonifacio Global City (BGC), a fast-developing, upmarket area of Metro Manila, following the successful debut of its first taproom in Sta. Rosa, Laguna.

The BGC venue features the brewery’s internationally recognised beers, including the High Hive Honey Ale, awarded World’s Best Beer in its category at the 2024 World Beer Awards.

Located in Forbes Town near Burgos Circle, Engkanto Taps BGC offers eight beers on tap, including the Paint Me Purple Ube Lager and Mango Nation Hazy IPA, both gaining popularity in the US and Australia.

Seasonal brews featuring local ingredients such as fruits and flowers will be periodically introduced, enhancing variety for regular patrons. Those new to craft beer can enjoy smaller servings through beer flight options, sampling four different styles at a time.

In addition to beer, the taproom serves specialty cocktails crafted around Engkanto’s signature beers. These include the Sampa-Loca Highball, featuring Green Lava Double IPA mixed with agave syrup, and the Nutty C Nice-Presso, a unique espresso martini variation infused with Nutty C Nice Choco-Nut Stout beer.

Engkanto Taps also boasts a curated menu by Chef Luis de Terry, an expert in beer-food pairings. Standout dishes include Croqueta Gonzalez—chili with beef encased in creamy potato—and Yiken Inasal sa Gata, a creative spin on the classic Bacolod chicken skewer. Homemade sauces, such as Engkanto Ale Mustard, incorporate the brewery’s beers, complementing dishes like the Sausage Party platter.

Engkanto Taps will also periodically host themed events and live entertainment, attracting beer enthusiasts and casual drinkers alike.

Following the positive reception at its Sta. Rosa outlet, the brewery hopes its BGC flagship will become a key gathering place for those exploring new flavours and innovative beer experiences; and will help to build a vibrant craft beer culture in Manila by providing quality brews, creative cocktails, and complementary cuisine in a laid-back atmosphere.
