Engkanto Craft Brewery has received multiple recognitions at this year’s prestigious World Beer Awards.

Top of the list was a Gold for their Engkanto Lager, which impressed the judges with its tropical profile of fruity, citrusy notes and crisp and refreshing appeal.

Michael “MJ” Jordan, Engkanto Brewmaster, accepted the accolades on behalf of the Carmona (Manila) based brewery last August 19, 2021 via email correspondence with Awards Director Anita Ujszaszi.

Among Engkanto’s entries, the Engkanto Lager also received the top honor as Country Winner in the Classic Pilsener category. The brew will now move on to the next stage of the competition, representing the Philippines to compete with other country winners from Canada, Germany, the United Kingdom and more at the ‘World’s Best’ finals scheduled for early September.

In addition, the Engkanto Blonde Ale and Double IPA bagged Silver and Bronze medals, respectively.

“I’m extremely pleased that Engkanto Brewery has won 3 awards upon entering our first International Beer Competition,” said MJ, who joined the brewery team earlier this year. “It’s a testament to our teamwork and unrelenting focus to make the highest quality craft beer and making a local beer for Filipinos that is recognized as world class.”

Ian Paradies, Founder of Engkanto, highlighted the team’s collective effort and drive to innovate and educate. He said, “Words can’t express how proud I am of the whole Engkanto team for their achievement in winning these three awards in our first entry into a highly recognized international beer competition like the World Beer Awards.”

“I know that this will only drive us to further improve our processes thru innovation and Research and Development (R&D) in order to continue educating the market on craft beer and bringing world class products to Filipinos and foreigners alike.” he added.
