Many cyclists will agree that a good hard ride should be rewarded with an ice-cold brew and to celebrate the release of their new cycling-themed beer – Chain Reaction West Coast IPA – Singapore’s Brewerkz has launched their first-ever Tour De Beer Challenge.
Celebrating the cycling culture that has taken hold on the island the Tour De Beer Challenge is a self-guided, non-competitive fun cycling event.
Your race, your pace, your date
Instead of your typical breakneck-paced race to the line, participants can complete the event in their own time as you traverse Singapore taking in the sights of the garden city’s cityscape.
Participants are required to visit all 4 Brewerkz outlets (Rendezvous Hotel, Riverside Point, One Fullerton, Indoor Stadium), complete a challenge at each venue and be rewarded with 2 free pints of Chain Reaction West Coast IPA at any outlet once completed.
The challenges include questions about Brewerkz, recording a short video, posing for a photo and trying their local spin of the “poppgi challenge”.
Participants taking part can also win more prizes such as a private tour of the Brewerkz brewery or experiencing the Brewerkz Singapore River Dining Cruise.
Registration is open until 10th December 2021 and the challenge runs from 10th December 2021 till 10th January 2022. Challengers can visit all the outlets in one day, or over the course of the month.
The S$43 registration fee gets participants a dry-fit t-shirt, 330ml can of Chain Reaction West Coast IPA, a competition Passport Card and special edition Brewerkz tote bag.
Celebrating Cycling
Focusing not on the race but rather on the journey, the Tour De Beer hopes to encourage cyclists to explore areas of the island they may otherwise not have cause to visit.
“With the growing ridership in Singapore, we wanted to have a beer that would celebrate the vibrant cycling scene, hence the Chain Reaction West Coast IPA” says Tan Wee Han, CEO of Brewerkz. “And we thought it would be fun to do a cycling themed event to bring some fun and cheer in the midst of this pandemic, hence the Brewerkz Tour De Beer Challenge!”
The Chain Reaction West Coast IPA is part of Brewerkz’s Singapore Series, a line-up of beers celebrating the spirit of Singapore.
The brew is characterised by a beautifully intense tropical notes including zesty passionfruit, juicy pineapple, fresh citrus and pine needles complimented by a resinous hoppiness and boasting a soothing lingering bitterness on the finish.
