The venue will reopen in mid-April, however, but as the Goose Island Taproom
BrewDog’s taproom in Lyndhurst Terrace, Central, Hong Kong, has officially closed its doors and is currently being refurbished to become the Goose Island Taproom, according to local reports. The new taproom is set to open in mid-April and will feature a range of Goose Island signature beers, including IPAs, stouts, pale ales, pilsners, and wheat ales.
Goose Island is a Chicago-based brewery and is part of the Anheuser-Busch Inbev empire, known for brands such as Budweiser and Stella Artois, among many others.
BrewDog is a Scottish craft beer company, and partnered with Budweiser China in 2023, a subsidiary of Anheuser-Busch InBev, to expand its presence in the Chinese market through a joint venture, leveraging Budweiser China’s sales and distribution network. It opened its Lyndhurst Terrace outlet in late 2023.
The Scottish brewer which is majority owned by private equity company TSG Consumer Partners, has been trying to expand its network of taprooms in Asia in recent years with mixed results. In addition to the closure of its Hong Kong outlet, last November it closed its two Mumbai flagship bars, citing supply chain and regulatory difficulties.
It has recently opened its first taproom in Ploenchit, Bangkok.
