India’s Kimaya Himalayan Beverages launches a new Belgian malt and basmati rice brew
India’s Kimaya Himalayan Beverages, based in New Delhi, has introduced BeeYoung Beyond, a new addition to its BeeYoung beer brand, as part of its strategy to expand in India’s craft beer market. BeeYoung Beyond will first be introduced in Uttarakhand before expanding to other states, to coincide with Kimaya Himalayan Beverages’ fifth anniversary.
The “crafted international-style pilsner” blends global brewing techniques with locally sourced ingredients, according to the brewer, and offers consumers a premium beer
using a combination of Belgian specialty malt and Doon Basmati rice from Uttarakhand, delivering a smooth, velvety texture. The use of basmati rice reflects the company’s commitment to incorporating elements of India’s agricultural heritage.
The beer features earthy, spicy, and floral hop notes, creating a crisp yet balanced flavour. The brew was developed and refined at BeeYoung Brewgarden, a Delhi microbrewery, that served as a testing platform to gather consumer feedback. Positive responses led the company to scale production and bring the new variant to a wider market.
The launch aligns with the company’s focus on strengthening its retail footprint while catering to the growing demand for craft beer in India. The Indian craft beer market has seen rising interest from consumers seeking diverse flavour profiles and premium brewing techniques.
BeeYoung is one of India’s first crafted strong beers and has become a leading brand in the segment. It has received recognition at international and domestic beer competitions, including the European Beer Challenge, World Beer Awards, and Asia Beer Challenge.
