Judging for the event will be held in Singapore in September, with a live awards ceremony in October at Brew Asia, the region’s premier brewing conference & trade fair.
The 2024 Asia Beer Championship has announced that the judging of the region’s best brews will be held this year in Singapore on 10 & 11 September. The competition opened for any Asian breweries wishing to participate on 6 June.
Following the judging, there will also be a live awards presentation at Brew Asia on 4 October.
The Asia Beer Championship is an awards programme run by the industry for the industry. The annual competition provides a trusted quality benchmark for consumers as well as independent feedback to the regions’ brewers. From Jordan to Japan, Indonesia to China the competition is open for entry to any beer brewed commercially within Asia.
Beers will be judged by a panel of professional brewers and internationally experienced beer judges who’s task it will be to not only select the best beers of the competition, but to provide independent feedback to brewers to help with the development of their brews.
Beers will be assessed in 32 competition categories, chosen to reflect beer styles commonly found in the Asian marketplace. Breweries entering four or more beers will also automatically qualify for the “Champion Brewery of Asia” competition as well as the “Country Champion Brewery” competition.
Running in tandem with the event is The Asia Cider Championship which celebrates the growing popularity of cider in the Asian region. New for 2024 the competition organizers have added a Mead category.
For those brewers wishing to take part, the entry cost is US$100 for each beer, with 6 x 330ml bottles or cans need to be submitted for judging samples. These samples must be shipped with duty paid, to the competition organisers in Singapore by 23 August.
