GAI Macchine S.p.A., founded in 1946, is a leading Italian manufacturer and innovator in the field of liquid filling technology. The company is well-known for having pioneered the concept of “monobloc”, enabling multiple production stage in one single machine – now become quite standard in the industry. While the company originally focused on wine, its presence in craft beer has grown steadily, with the ability of designing and supplying complete lines, including labelling.

A revolutionary patented electro-pneumatic valve developed in 2013 (doc. n° TO2012A000869) allows considerable improvement in filling performance, reliability and flexibility. Applicable to productions of both sparkling and still products, this technology is applied to both rotative and linear models. This last one is the MLE, a product that has satisfied the needs of many small producers of craft beverages.

In 2017, GAI also moved into can filling. After the first linear models (also of the MLE series), new rotative canning monoblocs have been introduced, capable of reaching higher working speeds. Their specific design, inclusive of seamers built in-house, are focused on maintaining high levels of quality and efficiency throughout all the steps of production, maintenance and sanitization.

Operating from its state-of-the-art facility and with over 70% of its turnover generated by exports, GAI can offer high levels of technical assistance and spare parts for the entire machine lifetime, as 100% of the machines are designed in-house and 90% of the components are manufactured in-house. This reflects the company’s attitude towards the equipment supplied, which remains for all intents and purposes a “GAI product” throughout its life cycle, with clients becoming very much part of the GAI family.
