Brewers and cidermakers worldwide are urged to enter their best beers and ciders into the world’s most historic competition of its kind – The International Brewing & Cider Awards. Registration for the ‘Oscars’ of the brewing and cider world close on 31st January 2024.

Founded in 1886, the competition presents an unparalleled opportunity for brewers and cidermakers to have their products evaluated by internationally acclaimed, commercially practicing brewers and cidermakers from around the world.

Over its rich 137-year history, the integrity, professionalism and judging standards of the Awards has been unswerving, providing an established platform for entrants to gain recognition on a global stage and showcase their products as an outstanding example of their style within the brewing and cider world.

The Awards encourage and celebrate innovation and diversity within the industry and include a broad range of categories and classes, each differentiated by alcoholic strength.

The International Brewing Awards comprise nine beer categories with 36 classes, including Cask, Keg and Smallpack Beer, alongside innovative variations on style such as Sour Beer, Special Hop, and Wheat. The International Cider Awards comprise three cider categories with 15 classes, including Classic, Flavoured and Innovative Cider, alongside variations on style including Rosé, Ice and Botanical Cider.

More than 30 companies from across the globe are supporting the 2024 International Brewing & Cider Awards. As a not-for-profit “by industry for industry” event, companies worldwide have been keen to align their brands to the Awards.

Headline sponsors for The International Brewing Awards are esteemed brewery process equipment manufacturer, Krones UK, along with BarthHaas, a leading supplier of hops, hop products and services. Fermentis, renowned for their expertise in yeast and fermentation solutions, takes the spotlight as headline sponsor for The International Cider Awards.

Trophy sponsors include BarthHaas, drinktec + marketing, Morning Advertiser, BrauWelt, BFBi, All-Party Parliamentary Beer Group, British Guild of Beer Writers, IBD, Lallemand and Enartis, with merchandise sponsors including Charles Faram & Co, Murphy & Son, AB Vickers, LemonTop, Fattorini and Bevex / K-Flex.

Industry solutions company Anton Paar will contribute analysers and staff to the event to ensure the rigorous judging standards which are essential to the integrity of the judging process are upheld, and Japan Craft Brewers Association is once again partnering with the Awards.

For the first time the Awards will relocate to Depot Mayfield in Manchester, UK and be accompanied by a public festival – The International Brewing & Cider Festival – offering a rare opportunity for brewers and cidermakers who enter the prestigious awards to showcase their products at the Festival and raise their brand’s profile to an audience of industry professionals and beer and cider enthusiasts.

Ruth Evans MBE, Director of the International Brewing & Cider Awards, commented: “We’re thrilled to be continuing our long-term partnerships with so many dedicated industry professionals at this year’s event. As a non-for-profit competition, these invaluable sponsorships enable us to host our esteemed competition and preserve its rich legacy while ensuring that the world’s most talented and innovative brewers and cidermakers receive the recognition and accolades they deserve.

“With only a few weeks left to register, we encourage brewers and cidermakers across the globe to put their product to the test and enter their best beers and ciders into the Awards to be evaluated by our esteemed judging panel of practising industry professionals on a global platform.

“Receiving a medal or trophy at the Awards is not just an accolade, but it signifies your product as an exceptional commercial representation of its style. This achievement provides an opportunity to gain worldwide recognition for your product, enhance your brand’s visibility and credibility, spark discussions with buyers, importers and distributors, whilst obtain valuable feedback from your professional peers.

“Our Awards is a celebration of excellence within the brewing and cidermaking industry, and this year promises to be even more exciting with the introduction of a public festival.”
