Vietnam’s Origins Bia and Bazan Cider have entered a joint venture to launch ‘The Funk Factory’ in Ho Chi Minh City.

The taproom concept focuses on locally crafted beverages and cuisine, emphasising ingredients and products sourced from in and around Saigon while also serving as a venue for local artists and cultural events.

The Funk Factory, the first physical presence for both Origins and Bazan, is located in Saigon’s District 2 and is currently in a soft opening phase.

“We’re incredibly excited to create a venue that can showcase our current beers as well as our new seasonal and experimental brews”, shares Origins Bia’s Founder and director Jack Plexico.

“The partnership with Bazan Cider brings another really unique element as I’ve never seen a brewer and cider maker join forces in this way. We’re looking forward to seeing what 2024 has in store for both us and the craft market in general.”

The Funk Factory’s food program – led by Vietnam Masterchef runner-up Tri Phan and Loi Nguyen – will incorporate a range of infusions, raw ingredients and thematic elements from Origins’ beers and Bazan’s ciders.

“Connecting directly with our loyal customers is something we’ve always aimed to do better, and this is the perfect opportunity to do that in an impactful way.”
