The brewer opens a distribution and brewing facility in Malur to support nationwide expansion

Indian craft brewery Red Rhino has opened a new commercial facility in Malur, Karnataka state, as part of its strategy to strengthen its craft beer production and distribution network across Bangalore and into other locations in and beyond the state.

The brewery will initially support production and distribute Red Rhino’s Signature Lager and Hefeweizen, along with a selection of seasonal varieties. The new Malur facility is equipped with advanced brewing infrastructure, including larger fermentation tanks, dedicated kegging lines, and automated quality control systems.

Red Rhino plans to make its beers available on tap at multiple venues across Bangalore starting in April 2025. The company currently serves Bangalore and Hyderabad as its flagship markets but is preparing for a broader national rollout targeting major urban centres in India. Hence, the facility is designed to maintain production consistency while enabling the company to scale operations efficiently.

The facility is also supported by a cold chain and logistics system that ensures optimal quality and temperature control from brewing to final delivery. The expansion is backed by BEVERA, Red Rhino’s newly launched enterprise resource planning (ERP) system, which automates the entire brewing and distribution process. The system is expected to improve operational efficiency by integrating functions such as order processing, inventory management, and delivery scheduling.

India’s craft beer market has been expanding at an annual rate of 22% since 2022, with the premium craft segment growing at 27% annually. The market is projected to maintain this pace over the next eight years, driven by changing consumer preferences and increased demand for high-quality, artisanal beer.
