The Indian brewery breaks new ground for the local industry with the launch of craft beer in cans.
Effingut, a key player in India’s fast-growing craft brewing industry, has announced the launch of its signature craft beers in cans, responding to escalating demand for high-quality brews in more convenient packaging.
Founded over a decade ago by Manu Gulati in Maharashtra state, Effingut has expanded from a modest brewpub in Koregaon Park, Pune, to a nationwide presence with 11 outlets, encompassing four brewpubs, two bistros, and five E2Go locations.
Effingut’s move into canned craft beers is part of its broader vision to make craft beer accessible for every occasion, according to the company. They are also taking advantage of the recent change in regulations in India’s Maharashtra State that now allows for small format packaging and distribution for smaller producers.
Their first offerings, Bavarian Wheat Beer and InCider Ale Kashmiri Apple, will be available in 500-ml cans across Pune and Mumbai, allowing beer aficionados to enjoy the brews not only in brewhouses, but also at home and outside events because of the new, portable format.
Effingut boasts a diverse repertoire of over 230 distinct beer styles, captivating craft beer enthusiasts across India with its commitment to using only the finest ingredients and traditional brewing techniques.
Effingut’s expansion into canned beers represents a significant stride in its mission to redefine the craft beer landscape in India. By offering its signature brews in cans, Effingut aims to broaden its reach. “We believe in offering something for everyone,” said Gulati. “By expanding into cans, we’re not only broadening our reach, but also ensuring that our beers can be enjoyed wherever and whenever our customers choose.”
