Innovation, Success and What Beer Drinkers Want to Buy – that’s what legend of the craft beer industry Charlie Papazian will be discussing at SEA Brew 2022 in Bangkok on the 27th October.

As one of the most prominent and recognized names in the world of beer and brewing Charlie is fondly referred to as the Godfather of the US craft beer industry. Over a span of 50 years he has seen breweries rise and fall and there is no person better placed to advise the rapidly developing industry this side of the Pacific.
Among his many achievements he counts the establishment of the Brewers Association, Great American Beer Festival and World Beer Cup and his book “The Complete Joy of Homebrewing” has sold over 1 million copies worldwide.

Charlie will be joined as a keynote at this year’s annual brewing industry conference by an upstart from a younger generation of brewers. Mazen Hajjar began his career as a war photographer in the Lebanon before starting the Middle-East’s first low-fare airline at the age of 29 and then Lebanon’s first craft brewery.
In 2015 he moved to Australia and set up a new brewery, Hawker’s Beer, which this year won the title of Champion Large Australian and Champion Victorian Brewery at the Australian International Beer Awards (AIBA).
Acknowledging that the industry is under attack from many external players such as Setlzers, Non-Alc and spirits based mixers his keynote “The Art of Nimble – brewing into the future” will look at how we must all somehow adapt, be nimble, and predict trends without losing a grip on who we are in the fast paced brewing industry.
Both keynotes will be joining various panels and holding discussion groups during the course of the 2 day conference including the Experts Panel – the traditional final panel to finish off the conference.
The annual conference and trade fair, back after 2 years online, will be held in Bangkok’s Berkeley Hotel on 27th & 28th October.
